Dive Capital of the World

Enjoy your stay in the first of the Florida Keys and the self-proclaimed Dive Capital of the World. Home to tropical hardwoods, winding creeks, two state parks, a national park and a portion of a national marine sanctuary, Key Largo boasts some of the most fascinating botanical scenery in the state.

Visitors will enjoy watersports, eco-tours, beaches and dolphin encounters. The island also offers numerous on-shore attractions, including nature trails and a rehabilitation center for wild birds. Key Largo is home to the world’s largest artificial reef, the 510-foot USS Spiegel Grove, the John Pennekamp Coral Reef Underwater State Park and the African Queen.

Each year, Key Largo hosts the Humphrey Bogart Film Festival, celebrating the life and films of the great American actor. It’s not just Hollywood producers who are drawn to the area, Fantasy Fest revelers relax here during the famously outlandish costume festival.
