Touch of Historic Charm

Dating back to 1865, the charming city of Katy is named after the M-K-T Railroad that once ran through the town. Explore the history at Katy Heritage Society Railroad Museum, where train artifacts are exhibited in a restored train depot. Katy Heritage Museum is another historic must-see, featuring vintage farming equipment and antiques.

While Katy is historic, it’s also a fast-growing suburb of Houston. Located just west of the Energy Corridor and 30 minutes from Downtown, there’s easy access to business parks, shopping, dining and local breweries. At Mary Jo Peckham Park, there are number of outdoor activities including fishing, walking trails and miniature golf.

Katy also offers several seasonal events and festivals. Grab a blanket and head to Movies in the Parks or visit the Katy Rice Harvest Festival in October.
