Just outside of the glamour of Los Angeles is the home of the happiest place on earth – the original Disneyland theme park.

Over 15 million people flock to Anaheim every year just to be whisked away to a theme park renowned as the perfect family-friendly escape. Along with a gorgeous stretch of coastline to visit, huge national events turn up as well. Ice hockey and baseball fans can find refuge at Honda Center and Angel Stadium for some truly amazing sports experiences.

Things to know before you go

  • Getting to Anaheim from Los Angeles International Airport is simple – take the Amtrak and Metrolink train and exit at the Anaheim railway station, just outside Honda Center. SuperShuttle is a more affordable option, dropping you off at your hotel directly.
  • Look out for Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART), which offers a shuttle service to popular destinations, including Disneyland, Angel's Stadium, Honda Center, Knott's Berry Farm and more.
  • For those planning to spend their time only at Disneyland, renting a car isn’t necessary if you’re staying at the Hilton Anaheim – it’s a 5-minute walk to the park.
