Chicago starts to come alive with plenty of things to do and see in the spring and summer months.

It’s the perfect spot for a weekend of family fun, whether you’re planning a staycation, flying in for a city getaway, or driving in from nearby Michigan. Jenna McFarland did just that and road tripped in with her husband and their three daughters for a weekend of family-friendly activities in the Windy City.

Staying at the centrally located DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago – Magnificent Mile, Jenna and her family were able to set out and explore the Chicagoland area during the day and return for some much loved time at the hotel pool.

During their visit, they were able to experience the one-of-a-kind deep dish pizza from Gino’s East and didn’t let a little fog deter them from visiting 360 Chicago’s TILT experience. On a sunny day, viewers get to see and tilt over the city from 1,030 feet up. The McFarlands were also able to make a stop at Chicago Zoological Society’s Brookfield Zoo. In addition to all of the great exhibits you can see at the zoo year-round, they were able to check out the Zoo’s Brick Safari Exhibit, featuring life-size animals made from LEGO® Bricks!

Check out some of the highlights from their weekend.
