THE COLLECTION: Where Art Meets Fashion

Fashion Outlets of Chicago merges engaging contemporary art with fashion to bring a new meaning to community art. At the onset of the shopping center’s opening in 2013, Fashion Outlets unveiled a collection of curated site-specific artwork located throughout the shopping center. The contemporary artwork can be found throughout the center’s common areas, including works such as Daniel Arsham’s falling figure relief in a parking garage vestibule and Jen Stark’s psychedelic mural on the bottom sides of an escalator.

In 2016, this artwork acted as the foundation for what is now known as THE COLLECTION: Where Art Meets Fashion. The multifaceted art program provides visitors with the opportunity to access and enjoy contemporary works of art by both emerging and established artists. Components of THE COLLECTION include site specific annual commissions by nationally renowned artists and rotating exhibitions of work by a variety of artists three times each year.

The great savings, impressive contemporary art and unique concierge services have attracted visitors from around the world to the center. In 2014 Fashion Outlets of Chicago was awarded “The Best Factory Outlet Centre” in the World at the international MAPIC awards.
