Take a break from the heat and dive into Barton Springs Pool

This pool in the middle of the park is usually on the top of every “things to do” list for Austin. Escape from the Texas heat for a bit, and jump into this 3-acre, 68-degree (year-round) pool built from underground springs.  Curious to know more about the Barton Springs? Visit “Splash!” an educational exhibit where you get to learn about the history and biology of the springs.

Hike, Bike, or Climb Barton Creek Greenbelt:

Get active at the Greenbelt! Bike or hike the trail, find swimming holes and dip your feet in waterfalls when you want to take a break. One of many greenbelts in Austin, Barton Creek greenbelt remains visitor’s top choice. With over 12 miles of trails, experience all your favorite outdoor activities in one place. With the “Trail Head” trail starting in Zilker Park, start with a flat trail for about a mile, and then have access to many different trails. Kayak, Canoe, and Paddle through Lady Bird Lake

Add some adventure and adrenaline in your day by making your way over to the streams (and then into Lady Bird Lake) with an stand-up paddleboat or kayak rental. From the view of Austin’s skyline to the beautiful ponds, streams, and waterfalls in the park, discover why Zilker Park is often called the “jewel in the heart of Austin.”

 Enjoy the Beauty of Austin’s Botanical garden located in Zilker Park:

The Austin botanical gardens is the go-to place for nature lovers that want to escape reality and enter a fairytale world for a couple of hours. With themed gardens such as herbs, roses, and the Japanese garden, it’s like stepping into a different world. The garden doesn’t just stop at flowers and plants. Intertwined in between these beautiful gardens, there are streams, small waterfalls, and Koi-ponds. To take your fairy tale world through a different time zone, enter the Hartman Prehistoric Garden where there is a recreated dinosaur habitat.

Let your artistic side out while taking a stroll through the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum:

The largest “Touchable” sculpture museum in Texas is located right here in Zilker Park! With over 200 sculptures located around the garden and museum, experience a beautiful “non-traditional” experience.

Located right across Barton Springs pool, the Hillside Theater is the home to many exciting events and shows.
