No matter how you define romance, Atlanta’s got tons of options for ways to spend quality time! From romantic places to get cozy, to high-energy hotspots, to ways to have fun outdoors, check out these options of romantic things to do.

Go to the drive-in. The Starlight Drive-In is Atlanta’s classic outdoor movie venue, showing popular, in-theater movies that you can watch from the comfort of your car. For $9 per person, you get access to two movies, plus you can bring all the snacks (even a whole pizza) you want and put different spin on movie night!

Sip some vino. Whether you drive to North Georgia to visit actual wineries or you stay in metro Atlanta, you’ve got lots of options of where to enjoy wine. If you stay in town, check out the wine-tasting sections at Purple Corkscrew Wine Shop & Tasting Room, Barcelona VinoTeca, Sherlock’s Wine Merchant Buckhead, Wine Shoe, Perrine’s Wine Shop, 3 Parks Wine Shop, and City Winery. Take in a concert or show. Buckhead Theatre, Smith’s Olde Bar, Tabernacle, and Blind Willie’s are all classic locations to see touring show, and you should also consider Center Stage, Terminal West, Eddie’s Attic, and Grocery on Home. You could even get dolled up and spend an elegant evening at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, listening to award-winning musical ensembles. For dance performances, comedic acts, musicals, and plays, check out the Fox Theatre, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Atlanta Ballet, the Shakespeare Tavern, and Variety Playhouse. Take a tour. Whether you choose a food tour (Atlanta Food Walks and Food Tours Atlanta), a brewery tour (Atlanta Beer Bus or Southern Beer Tours), or even a small chocolate factory (Xocolatl), Atlanta’s got a lot of cool tours to take!

Get up high. SkyView Atlanta is a Ferris wheel that takes you to new heights, soaring you up above Atlanta’s glittering downtown skyline in a romantic gondola for two. If you choose to go VIP, your gondola will feature leather interiors and see-through floors for extra thrills.

Land a triple axle. OK, that move might be a little too ambitious, but finding an ice skating rink near you, clasping hands, and skating to your heart’s content can definitely be within your wheelhouse. Warm up afterward with a hot chocolate, tea, coffee, or whatever else suits your fancy. Park Tavern, Atlantic Station, and the Astor Rink at the St. Regis all have skating rinks in the winter.

Go out to a fancy dinner. When it’s time to set the romance, go for restaurants like Nikolai’s Roof, Canoe, Polaris, BoccaLupo, Staplehouse, and Eight Sushi Lounge. Prefer a foodie favorite over fancy

Take a stroll. The Atlanta Botanical Garden provides the perfect surroundings for an evening stroll amid fragrant plants, plenty of things to look at, and fresh air.

Have friendly competition. Upscale venues like The Painted Pin, The Painted Duck, and TopGolf provide some light fun while the comforts of cocktails, refreshments, and stylish furnishings are never far away.

Try something out of the ordinary. Consider attending a mystery dinner at Agatha’s A Taste of Mystery or an improv show at Dad’s Garage. Both ideas will likely spark a lot of conversation and laughs.

Take in a festival. Annual events like Taste of Atlanta let you sample bites from several Atlanta restaurants at once, and the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival, the Atlanta Brunch Festival, the Atlanta Beer Festival, and the Dogwood Festival all have similar models. These are but a few few of Atlanta’s festivals, many of which include entertainment, fun food, music, and shopping.

Play games. Skyline Park on the rooftop of Ponce City Market is packed with midway games like skee ball and ring toss, mini-golf, and a big slide, plus ice skating in the winter. All set to a backdrop of Atlanta’s horizon. Go at sunset for the view and enjoy refreshments and cocktails up there, too.

Get pampered. A couple’s spa treatment might be just what the doctor ordered, so find a location where you can indulge in luxury steams, saunas, facials, and massages.

Paint a masterpiece. Even if you don’t have painting skills to speak of, places like Sips ‘N Strokes and Painting With a Twist will step-by-step help you paint a simple, pre-drawn design and create something beyond what you thought you could do. Bonus: you can bring a bottle of wine!

Go to adults-only nights. Popular venues like the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, High Museum, and Georgia Aquarium often have evening events that are only for adults and offer after-hours access to exhibits, screenings, and live music. Throw in some light bites and a cash bar, and you’ve got a romantic night.

Take the night for yourselves. Book a romantic staycation in Atlanta.
