Long the destination for tacos, one of Southern California’s most celebrated foods, Puesto is an authentic dining experience that spans Mexico’s most interesting and memorable dishes.

From its talked about tacos to twists on classic guacamole to modern mariscos, you’ll bite into thoughtful food that tells a story. Puesto proudly crafts its tortillas by hand daily using heirloom blue corn from Mexico and sources only the highest quality, sustainable ingredients both locally and from regional Mexican purveyors.

Owned by a first-generation Mexican American family that has always been immersed in Mexican cooking, the original location opened its doors in La Jolla in 2012, followed by a downtown location at The Headquarters at Seaport Village and four other California locations. In spring 2020, they will introduce a brand-new San Diego location centrally located in Mission Valley, which will debut a completely new concept: Puesto Cervecería, a craft brewery located onsite.

Puesto thinks about every aspect of its sit-down restaurant experience, not stopping at what’s on your plate to make sure that what fills your glass and surrounds you is something to remember. At each location you’ll find vibrant colors, from the table setting to the murals, plus one-of-a-kind cocktails, Mexican wines on tap and craft beers to pair with your meal.

What to order? Start with the Puesto Perfect guacamole, a heaping bowl of avocados mixed with hunks of Parmigano-Reggiano and a Mexican Street Bowl, then the Filet Mignon or Shrimp Tamarindo tacos and the Tres Leches de Café cake for dessert.
