Attracting fans and stars alike, spring training is what brought the pros to Florida before there were even any pro sports team in the state! It even hosted some of the greats including Babe Ruth, Rogers Hornsby and more.
Now, with more than 130 years of MLB Spring Training under its baseball cap, Florida is still one of just two locations in the country to host the favored pastime of America during its pre-season. Home to the Grapefruit League, three regions throughout Florida will host spring training Feb. 22 – Mar. 24, including Orlando, West Palm Beach, Jupiter and Tampa.
Home to the Washington Nationals, Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins, the West Palm Beach and Jupiter area is one of the hubs for spring training in Florida. The four teams are spread across two stadiums — the Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium and FITTEAM Ballpark — which are a short 12 miles away from each other.
Fans can easily travel between the two parks during the season to catch as many games as possible. Keep in mind, the Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is home base for hometown fave Miami Marlins, so be sure to grab tickets early because these go fast among locals.
