Johns Hopkins, with all of its affiliated institutions, is the second-largest employer in Maryland. Its campus officially has its own neighborhood, Homewood. But the area is bordered by several other vibrant neighborhoods – including Hampden, Charles Village, and Remington – each with its own character to explore. Hampden is the home to the quirky side of Baltimore, with funky stores and eclectic restaurants lining W. 36th Street. Charles Village is home to the Baltimore Museum of Art, a must-see for any art enthusiast visiting the city. Remington is a neighborhood on the rise, with more and more businesses opening there every day. Check out R. House, one of the largest food markets in the entire city.
