Throughout Downtown, there’s an abundance of live entertainment and sporting events. The Theater District on the north side offers major broadways shows, The Houston Ballet, and Houston Orchestra. Or take in a concert at the Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park or House of Blues.
If you prefer to catch a game, three of the four major league teams are in walking distance: the Astros, Rockets, and Dynamo. Just a short drive away, still in the loop, is NRG Stadium, home of the Houston Texans.
For a local vibe, head west to Midtown and Montrose where you’ll find art galleries, coffee shops, dining and plenty of nightlife. Be sure to try the award-winning Hugo’s restaurant.
Just southwest of Downtown, you’ll be surrounded by top-ranked museums along with the Houston Zoo, ranked in the top ten in the country.
While staying close to the city, find acres of green space. Jog or kayak the Buffalo Bayou which leads you to Memorial Park, with an 18-hole golf course, 30 miles of running and hiking trails, tennis courts, sports fields, playgrounds, croquet courts and a swimming pool.
