Fort Lauderdale has a happening live music scene, and there are a variety of venues that feature a bevy of eclectic bands, including everything from big name headliners to indie groups.

One of the best intimate live music venues for rock and indie groups in South Florida, Revolution Live hosts all kinds of musical acts and has seating for up to 1,300 people. Additionally, the venue was the film site of the movie Rock of Ages. Superstars like Katy Perry and The Weeknd have played on this legendary stage. This summer, check out concerts featuring Slushii (June 14), Reel Big Fish & Bowling For Soup (June 19), New Found Glory (July 14) and August Burns Red (July 31). And on the first Sunday of each month, head to Esplanade Park for the Revolution Live Sunday Jazz Brunch. Jazz artists fill the air along Fort Lauderdale’s scenic Riverwalk with smooth sounds and browse food vendors from local eateries.
One of the larger venues in Broward County, the BB&T Center is an indoor arena in Sunrise near the entrance to the Everglades. It’s also home to the Florida Panthers hockey team. The biggest names in the music industry have played to sold-out crowds at the BB&T Center, including Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Billy Joel and Garth Brooks. This summer, the venue is hosting Ozzy Osbourne (May 31), Luis Miguel (June 22), Jeff Lynne (July 9), JoJo Siwa (July 12) and the New Kids on the Block (July 14). Get your tickets early!
In downtown Fort Lauderdale’s FATVillage (Flagler Arts and Technology), the creative hub of historic warehouses turned artistic canvases, host local bands, musical acts and DJs during the monthly art walk. Held on the last Friday of the month, stroll through galleries, check out the art, and listen to some great beats along the way.
In Fort Lauderdale Beach, check out the free Friday Night Sound Waves concert series features curated live bands, including some hot rising-stars. The 2019 series kicked off in March and ends this year in June.
