This Fall my family and I had the chance to spend the day at British Colonial Hilton Nassau when our cruise ship docked at the port of Nassau. We were on a cruise and created our own excursion by purchasing a resort day pass. British Colonial Hilton Nassau offers day passes or day rooms to cruise passengers. It’s a great way to spend time at the beach.
British Colonial Hilton Nassau is a short five minute walk from where all major cruise lines dock in Nassau, Bahamas. You can see the resort as your boat pulls in. The walk will take you through the popular Straw Market where local vendors sell a variety of souvenirs and treasures. When you arrive at the resort, go to the front desk and ask to purchase a day pass. The day pass is priced per person and children are half price. The day pass includes use of the private beach and pool, beach chairs, towels, sand toys and a voucher for lunch at the pool restaurant.
After we had checked in, my kids and husband quickly put on their snorkeling gear and jumped in to the water before I could even unpack our beach bag. I would only see their heads pop out to yell what kind of tropical fish they just saw in between the giggles. I relaxed on the comfy beach chairs until my son emerged from the water so we could dig in the sand.
We chose to eat lunch on the lounge “beds” that are surrounding the pool. There is a variety of items to choose from on the menu, even if you have a picky eater. My daughter had fresh fruit with yogurt dipping sauce. It was nice to have an option besides chicken nuggets!
After we had enough of the beach, we made the short walk back to the boat. There were no lines to wait in or tour groups to catch up with. We had a perfect day enjoying Nassau on our schedule. These are the kind of days you go on vacation for. Relaxing, having fun and being together as a family. British Colonial Hilton Nassau made a great day possible.
