The northeastern shore of Maui is one of the most breathtaking sceneries in the world. Picturesque views of lush rainforests, spectacular waterfalls and some of the most pristine beaches are found along the legendary Road to Hana.
Located 52 miles from Kahului Airport (OGG), the drive to Hana can take anywhere from two to four hours. After navigating the hairpin turns and bridges, you’ll enter Hana – a peaceful town where time seems to stand still. Perpetuating Hawaiian culture and the island’s natural beauty, it is one of the most isolated communities in the state. Spend the day at Hana Beach Park or browse the Hasegawa General for unique souvenirs. Discover Waianapanapa State Park, a beautiful black sand beach. Or visit one of five National Tropical Botanical Gardens in Hawaii.
Beyond Hana, find the popular Pools of Oheo. Discover beautifully tiered pools fed by waterfalls and take a dip in the tranquil waters. Located in the Kipahulu area of Haleakala National Park, you’ll also find plenty of self-guided hiking trails that weave through bamboo forests and cascading waterfalls. One of the island’s best trails is the Pipiwai Trail, which leads to the 400 foot Waimoku Falls.
