Nicknamed Queen City, Regina is nestled in the southern portion of Saskatchewan. The province’s capital, the city was built on a topographical blank slate that has since evolved into a lush, tree-filled destination featuring the beautiful Wascana Lake. The area around the lake is now a cultural and political hub known as Wascana Centre and contains a good portion of Regina’s top attractions, including the Provincial Legislative Building, several university campuses, the provincial museum of natural history, the Regina Conservatory, the MacKenzie Art Gallery, the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts, and the Saskatchewan Science Centre.

The University of Regina also hosts the annual Science Rendezvous, which is Canada’s largest celebration of science and engineering, with more than 6,000 experts in the field flocking to the city to demonstrate their skills and research. And if sports are your thing, be sure to pack some green garb in your suitcase. Locals are known to be the rowdiest fans in the league when it comes to their CFL team, the green-and-white wearing Saskatchewan Roughriders, who call the newly built Mosaic Stadium home.
