Spend an awesome day outdoors at one of Philly’s best sunny-day spots–in fact, it’s been called one of the best urban beaches in the country! Spruce Street Harbor Park is located directly on the banks of the Delaware River, at Spruce Street and Christopher Columbus Boulevard (just outside the front door of the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing). Check out our tips below for enjoying the park no matter your mood.

Looking to relax?: Grab a spot in one of the colorful hammocks throughout the park, where you can lounge the day away. When the sun goes down, you’ll have a prime spot to enjoy the magical twinkling lights hanging from the trees.

Feeling hungry?: There are plenty of options to satisfy your cravings. Iron Chef Jose Garces has four outposts throughout the park: Harborside Pizza, Froman’s, Village Burger and Distrito. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you won’t want to miss the ice cream and sundaes from Franklin Fountain.

Got the kids in tow?: Check out the arcade at the southern end of the boardwalk, which is housed inside repurposed shipping containers. There you’ll find skeeball, air hockey, and racing games for the kids (and kids at heart!)

Want to enjoy a cold one?: Spruce Street Harbor Park features three different outdoor bars serving more than 15 craft beers, draft cocktails, wine and frozen drinks. Enjoy your drink of choice in the sunshine.

Our recommendation: do all of the above!

Hours vary throughout the season; check the official website to plan your visit.
